Implications

We get hurt by other’s words and actions. When in fact it’s not the actual words and actions that hurt us, it’s what we interpret its implications. If we changed our interpretation of such implications, would we still feel hurtful? So is the power in our hands or in the hands of those whom we accuse? Communication needs to have both a sender and a receiver. We may not be able to control the contents from the sender but we have the capability and the responsibility to decipher the content and keep only what’s required. It’s our job to filter out what’s important and what is not. We can’t block the world out but we can block the negativity. It just requires a lot of practice, patience and persistence.
